About Us

Our Staff
Owner, instructor and award-winning choreographer, Alison “Ali” Miller began her dance career at Miller’s School of Dance when she was 3 years old and has not stopped since. For over 25 years, she has taught dance instruction in all dance techniques: tap, ballet, jazz, pointe, hip hop and basic tumbling. Ali has a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts degree from UL Lafayette. Her youngest daughter has mental and learning disabilities, so she is aware that not all children learn at the same pace and in the same way. Her and her staff work with all children so that they can learn dance techniques and perform at their best level. Ali is a life-long resident of Vermilion Parish, loves to dance and loves to share her passion and talent with the children of the area.

Additional staff consists of instructors who have studied dance for at least 15 years and have taught lessons either as the primary instructor or as an assistant instructor. The 2023-2024 staff consists of Emily Miller, Zoe H. Doiron, Hope Lachaussee and Claire Frederick. Staff members attend dance conventions to stay up-to-date on the latest styles, techniques and dance combinations to bring back to our studio. Information gathered from conventions are combined with our original choreography to create our annual revue.

For several years, Ali and Emily have choreographed group talent routines for Erath High and Kaplan High BETA clubs where both schools have placed in the top 3 on the state level and top 10 at the National BETA Convention. This mother/daughter duo have also choreographed several couples for their school's "Dancing with the Stars" fundraisers.

In addition, several of our dance students are members of their school's dance or cheer teams.

Center Stage Dance Academy strives to bring out the best dancer in each child we instruct!

Our Studio

Our 2,000 sq. ft. facility features two classrooms which hold classes simultaneously, a homework station that allows children to complete school work if they have time between classes, parking in front of the building, a large lobby, two restrooms and a video monitor so that the parents can watch their child's progress. Each dance studio features a Rosco Adagio dance floor with a cushioned dance sub floor to prevent injuries to the dancer's knees and joints.

Our Annual Recital

In May, students will showcase what they learned during the dance year at our annual recital. The recital is usually held at Angelle Hall Auditorium on the UL Lafayette Campus at the end of May. Tickets are purchased through Center Stage Dance Academy.
